Default 1994 Miata, Norcal

Another new Miata owner here to say hi, but not new to car forums (aka I use the search).

After my FX16 GTS got totalled, my hunt for a replacement second car was on. Since I still had my GTI to drive around, I continued my search until I found exactly what I wanted.

- White Exterior
- OBD I
- 1.8L
- Tan Interior
- Manual Transmission

Really with those requirements, I realize I was looking at 94-95 Miata C Package. After a few months, I finally found the car locally. Paid for and took the keys on the night of October 14th.

Car's all stock with 127k. Will be ordering coils at the end of the month, some research on this site seems to recommend either Stance or Tien, but my searches yield no mention of affordable shops. Where would you all recommend I go to purchase the coils? I'm hoping for adjustable shock coilovers for less than 1000.

Since I just got the Miata a little over 24hrs ago, I do not have pictures yet, but here's pictures of my MKIV (on Bilstein PSS9s).

Welcome to the forum.

What ever coilovers u end up purchasing, don't cheap out on them. Tein HRs are a good choice as well as the Flex. Both of those will set u at the 1200-1400 range. I wouldn't go with cheaper coils. If your looking for great coils go to flyingmiata.com and pickup a set of their coilsovers; these can be custom valved for what ever the car will be used.

Personaly I'm on tokico illuminas with H&R race springs. Drop could be better but I love the feel and they handle very well. They aren't to rough for daily but when it comes to hard cornering they do the job. This setup will set u back about 7 hundo. Well worth it.

Hope You find what ur looking for. Remember function>form

Welcome to the Forum Avant. Do you have pictures of your FX16? are you from Sacramento? If so we have a meets twice a month. You should also check out norcalroadsters.com for more local meets.

Here is the link for the meets we have in Vacaville.

I'm near sacramento, about 15 minutes south of downtown. Vacaville is probably a bit far for me (45min each way), but thanks for the invite.

The FX16 only had engine work on it (thinner cometic headgasket, shaved head, valve job, short ram intake), wicked fun engine to rev, but it looked like a bucket on the outside so I don't have pictures worth showing.

Welcome. The FX16 was definitely cooler than any VW so post pics anyways.

Well if you insist...

Original 4AGE, yay (332k on the original engine when it got sandwiched, even with me taking it to redline weekly.)

Blown Headgasket @ cylinder 1, boo (probably from all those redlining runs, ha)

Ha, I would've thought about it, if the car was still around. Too bad it's probably a little cube by now.

Bought Stance GR+ for the Miata today, I'll have to get pictures of the car before I put them on.

Looking forward to those future Sacramento meets.
