Newbie in CT with first Miata

Hey,

I've been lurking for quite a while. I spent about a year and a half actively searching for a Miata in the tri-state area. I was in the mind set of dropping everything when I saw one on craigslist or anything, but working 9-5 I'd always get beaten to the punch. While eating dinner one Friday night and refreshing eBay motors, I found one in New Jersey and was lucky enough to be the first caller. I showed up the next morning and took it for a spin. It had some dents and the soft-top window was basically ripped out, but it was mechanically great. Only two owners with tons of records and about 98,000 miles. It is a 1993 Black and Tan. The previous owner got a few dings, dents and scratches with it. i don't really mind since I didn't want a great one since I live in a condo with no garage and no hose access for washing it.

One of the questions I keep getting is "is this your first Miata"? I get that, since now that I have one I'll always want one. I don't have much plans for this one. It is going to be driven about 75% of the year which is why I picked up a hardtop. All I really have in mind for it are some good shocks and springs, front sway, and am thinking about Chaparrals or Kosei K1's to keep it cheap and simple. I plan to do some autocross when the opportunity arises.

In the not-too-distant future I'd like to get a cleaner NA or NB and try some forced induction. In the distant future, I'd like to build a Seven/Locost with BP derived drive-train.

I've been having fun lurking and seeing what you're all up to with your cars and hope to be around for a while.

I'm not a fan of my user name. It's my Playstation Network name I settled on after an hour of already taken ones.

Welcome to CR. Sounds like you need to get a place with a big garage with all those plans.
