Hey dude,
I'm about 45 minutes west of Orlando. Perhaps we could meet up and I could drive you around in my car? Phatmiata (Randy) is nearby too. Perhaps we could all go for a beer? Keep me updated on PM as top when you're coming, etc. Fuji Racing (IRTBs) is also nearby in Clermont. It's about 25-30 minutes outside of Orlando. |

Hey Dude!
The weather is high of 90, low of 74, with a 50% chance of rain....every day until the middle of October. That's Florida weather for you. Anyway, sounds like you have some good plans. There are quite a bit of things to do in Orlando while you are there. The Ripley's Believe It Or Not Museum is kinda neat. The entire building is made to look UPSIDE DOWN and crooked! You can't miss it! It's on International Drive, the main street in the Orlando tourist area. Are you planning on going to Disney World or any of their parks? Before you leave, let us know so those of us in central Florida can give you our phone numbers and meet up with you one day while you're here! We'll have a Roadster Caravan just to welcome you to the US!

Eat where the locals eat. Avoid national chains like Applebee's, Chilis, TGI Fridays, et cetera, though they will be new to you. You might have to ask around, but oftentimes the concierge or the front desk people can tell you the best places to eat that aren't touristy. Get away from International Drive and The World to get more local fare. There are several Orlando denizens on here, so hopefully you'll get some good suggestions.
Of course, if you want to eat like a typical American, go to the most convenient place with a drivethru window. Make sure you order the greasiest, highest-fat items and wash it all down with a 128 ounce Diet Coke. Remember: Portions in the States are typically larger than portions in a lot of European or UK restaurants. I've had several Euro friends who said they would wind up ordering one entree and splitting it because the portions were so big. |

Busch Gardens is not too far from where the Tampa Bay Miata Club meets up, maybe 30 minutes or less.
Our local Miata Club meets up every Wednesday Night from 4:30 ish til' 9 or 10ish. Depends on the turnout. Just let us know once you come in for a visit so we can get you directions, or have someone fly solo to meet you and bring you to the meeting spot (Currently a nice resturant on the river, food, live band, and a row of Miatas!) The Arby's Big Montana is ludicrous. It's a 1/2 pound of roast beef on a bun. Gut bomb from hell. Americans are big on fusion food when it comes to fine dining. Different types of food styles and techniques used to create new flavors. If you can find a good Southwestern restaurant I would recommend it too. The Orlando people should be able to recommend good BBQ. |
