This is an artists impression of technical drawings found online from what sounds like the Tokyo Patent office. I think the real deal will look much better.

With the new Kodo design language being phased in at Mazda, I highly doubt that the ND will look anything like that. Artist renderings always suck. Unless it's from Mazda, no care.

I think it would be awesome if they brought back pop-up headlights, maybe rounded like the FD's have. Could be interesting if they were careful with it. Not feeling the bubble flares though...
Otherwise i actually kind of like the look of that rendering. They brought back some of the facial expression. |

Maybe if it was black or red it would look better, mirrors look like runabouts. Also artist has rearview mirror attached to the top not the windshield. Over seas they were talking of a 1.5l turbocharged engine.

I still like NB2 the best, but I think this is an improvement over the NC/NC2. I like how they tried to bring back the curves of the NB. One of my biggest beefs with NC styling was how it was too tub shaped. Also, the ricer fender vents need to go.
Even though I think its great the ND is supposed to be going back to its roots. I think it also needs certain things to differentiate it and keep it competitive. The 1.5L turbo would be nice if its true, factory boosted always means easy path to decent HP gains. But what I really want to see are things like real roll bar as an option. Smaller but wider wheels as an option. Adjustable shocks as an option. Basically performance oriented options that no one else provides. |
