And I disagree, there are modern cars that do just fine in this group and price bracket, the 370Z for example - that car works amazingly well on track right out of the box. Not saying much, again, this is like saying "from this group of drunk guys this one is the most sober one"... you wouldn't want this guy to be your designated driver Moti |

There won't be an additional dealer markup on the Scion version. It would be contrary to all Scion dealer agreements. At worst they may add some accessories, like wheels and tires, but not a markup. |

Scion is it going to add anything. Nor markup the price. Scion is a base car company that strips everything down to bare essential needs. And you have to purchase everything from scion as a dealer or company option. There goal target buyers are, first time 17 year old buyers that mommy and daddy will cosign and probably pay for. I remember when the xb xa and tc came from the factory with manual locks steering and windows and no abs. Only a am/fm radio.
That's why scions are listed so cheap. Toyota is smart to advertise the way they do. Draw them in, give them a fully loaded car to test drive, then once it's a commited sale, slam them with all the fees and charges for all the options. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA |

I'll be the first to say this isn't the most reputable source, but at least it's a comparison from the same source.
http://www.insideline.com/subaru/brz...and-video.html http://www.insideline.com/ford/musta...shoot-out.html For you lazy bums: BRZ: Slalom, 6 x 100 ft. (mph) 69.1 Slalom, 6 x 100 ft. (mph) ESC ON 66.6 Skid pad, 200-ft. diameter (lateral g) 0.92 Skid pad, 200-ft. diameter (lateral g) ESC ON 0.88 2011 mustang gt Skid pad (200-ft. diameter)lateral g: 0.93 Slalom, 6x100 ft. (mph): 70.3 And of course, we're talking stock for stock... otherwise there's no point in even comparing. Just throw a v8 in the BRZ and call it a day. |

^ That's not really a fair judge of a bad motor (not saying it is or isn't), but how many teams in pro drifting aren't swapping v8's into their cars? That speaks more to the way pro drifting is going and not so much to the quality of the motor. I haven't seen any TT fr-s' yet, so I can't really say anything about that.

That said, those are pretty impressive times when you consider the tires on the FR-S/BRZ are supposed to be designed for long life and fuel economy over maximum grip. A simple tire swap would probably make a significant difference in those max and transitional grip measurements. |

Well these slalom tests mean jack crap until proper tires are fitted to the BR-Z or FRS. Those prius tires are a joke. Quote:
Sorry just had to point out the sillyness in that idea. I agree with the v8 thing though. Everyone in pro-drifting uses v8s. Its just more reliable, easily replaced, and they have an awesome power band. I think it also helps stop certain platforms from having a huge advantage. Until they start implementing different weight restrictions based on what motor and power level is used, everyone will use v8s because it just makes too much sense. They need to adopt stricter car rules. |

I'm so glad that it performs better than a NC Roadster. Though I do know how Best motoring can be biased at times..
It's also a bit funny how that race is like mimicking the "claim to fame" that Keiichi Tsuchiya had by drifting to end a race. Still, a cool video nonetheless. |

As much as I love the 86, I gotta admit that the BMI vid is irritating to watch.
Hate how the Miata is being shown up like that. Wish the results were closer. Wish Mazda had gone just slightly more hardcore-er with the setup. The present day cred of the Miata line (whatever bit of it from those that can even see it) is built on the backs of folks like here and there who mod the sht, and track the sht of the cars to great effect. Stock to stock is not a pretty sight and never was. Help us out a lil Mazda. Man things up a tad from here on out okay? |
