It was a good race. Massa was simply superb. Shame Hamilton couldn't catch up

Anyone know if the FIA made any decisions regarding Massa's pit incident?

a fine. that is all. what do you expect? he's in a ferrari.

i thought the race was a bit boring. i cant wait to watch the GP2 race though, that sounded like it was rather exciting. (i have it on DVR).

i was reading some comments on Autoblog - sounds like the ITV feed had some pretty interesting interviews.

Figured...

I've said it before and I'll say it again--I'm really getting tired of the FIA fluffing for Ferrari

I agree with the race, all the action was in the pits hehe. Yeah Massa deserved it IMO, especially what happened the last race...You guys are gonna have to school me on F1, I have never had access to it in the past and only figure out now that speed tv is covering it, I don't really keep tabs on it so I don't really understand the politics of it. Don't get me wrong, I know who Micheal Schumacher is at least!, but with all this controversy around Hamilton it pretty got me interested and rooting for the guy a bit, though I am cheering on BMW since I work there haha.

Basically the FIA (governing body of world motorsport) has been in bed with Ferrari for years. The level of coitus has only increased with their prejudice against McLaren...

Good points on both fronts. Both of the Toyota guys have surprised me lately as well. Glad to see there might actually be something interesting going on besides Ferrari vs. McLaren.

I think it'd be fun to see Nakajima and Sato on the same team. Resurrect the SuperBestFriends, perhaps?

Damn sebastian bourdais almost got on the podium!!!

Those last two laps were insanity, and I feel like the last battle between raikkonen and hamilton was very sloppy racing. Hamilton didn't have the pass on the last corner and chose to use the escape road instead of staying behind which caused all the craziness. Chicken shit if you ask me.

I taped the Spa race and just watched it this evening, and totally agree about it being one of the best F1 finishes ive ever seen, along the lines of Villeneuve and Sumacher in '97.

It wasnt until i saw that post by the blue potato did i find out that F1 took the win away from Hamilton, and im pissed.

Leave it to the FIA to completely wreck the best race of the year. IMO Hamilton did all he had to by letting Kimi back around him. He was right on his ass going into the chicane, and he was right on his ass when he let Kimi back around.

That should have been the end of it.

Oh haha oh shit they actually took it away from Hamilton? That sucks, kind of....

While I don't think it was a by the book pass by Hamilton around Kimi I hate it when FIA interferes with the sport. And I'm sure it's just them sucking Ferrari off again.

Once again, the FIA steps in to keep it's favored child up front. We all remember that Massa was merely fined in Valencia for his transgressions...

To steal a line from the comments in that article, I will now refer to the FIA as the Ferrari Internal Assistant.

Although I am a Massa fan, i think it was a cheap move by Hamilton. He should have just braked harder and stayed behind, like most drivers do that get closed off, but he knew he would lose too much speed and took the cheap route to maintain speed. But it was also kimi's fault for zig zagging and losing speed before he got over took again.

I won't say Hamilton wasn't somewhat at fault, but Kimi didn't really leave him much choice...

I dont really think thats the issue. Hamilton realized he made a mistake by cutting the chicane, and let Kimi back around him on the front straight.

He was penalized because the FIA says he should have let Kimi back around, and then let him pull away further than he did. Creating a larger gap between the 2 cars.

Which is rediculous in my mind, because who is to decide what is an acceptable distance to let Kimi pull away? Its very subjective.

Oh okay. I thought he might've just slipped one too many blip words

ANYWAYS, I'm still mad at the FIA ruling. Doing this doesn't promote drivers to take risky moves --risky moves that fans love and will keep bringing in more fans. This is racing for crying out loud!

The best conclusion to any GP this year, and it turns out to be a complete farce! ugh.

So I'm watching a the friday practice on dvr right now and they just said that last week at Spa Sutil straight lined the chicane around Coultard, and didn't give up the pass AND didn't get penalized.

I guess that rule only applies when you're passing a Ferrari.

Signed the petition too.

If what Gripper reports is accurate, then the FIA have a lot to answer for
