I did! This was back in 2016. I took both for a test drive. First, a CLA down at the Benz dealer, but I told them it seemed a little to plebeian for my tastes. Smartly, I drove straight down to the next city to the Ford dealer in anticipation of driving the Taurus SHO. I begged to drive the but they told me it was for people who wore clean clothes and had money to spend and not vagrants and tire kickers. I told them they offended me and that I was triggered.

Actually, both dealerships told me to leave immediately, security was coming, something like that, about how I smelled like beer, so never mind.

Some poking around tells me these are a Lotus item. It wasn't easy to find a site or a source, but I think you have to go to Lotus directly. Or just hit up Jegs and get some generic ish and pop it in the center of the reverse light (assuming you're in a Miata).

I keep meaning to send the driver a message on Facebook to see if he knows, but keep forgetting. It wouldn't surprise me if they're lotus specific since it's on a Lotus Cup Car, that would make sense. But it's actually going on an rx8, not a miata, surprisingly.

I never understood the visual appeal of a Porsche 911. I get that different generations of the car have different mechanical characteristics that people prefer, but the factory stock aesthetics of the car have always been, to me, meek. In my mind, they're a tick better looking than a NA Miata, which isn't saying much.

The 944, OTOH, sex.

And I think that a 68 911 targa is amazing looking.

I think the word "targa" sounds cool. It evokes thoughts of "target," is if the car is a gun, and seeks out targets with surgical accuracy.

In my world, if they call something a cool name, I'm more enticed to examine purchasing it. For example, if there was a bag of corn chips called "targa chips," I'd likely buy them. Especially if they have "$2 only" printed on the bag.

I have an 84 Targa and absolutely love it. Of course, I'm a natural porsche fan (German descent) and spend a lot of time in GT3 RS', but there is a very unique appeal about classic 911s that most people don't understand until they get in one.

Speaking of Porsche I just came across this 65 911 with a miata windshield frame on BAT

If I had a German car, I'd have a vanity plate that read, "ACHTUNG."

That thing from BAT is awful.

Not a fan of that "speedster"

I didn't realize you were in Indiana Jrad. I'll have to drive up one day and check out the 911 project and help out a little

That looks like an attempt to make a German car look Italian.

Having issues with oil burning, but should I invest in a 1.8 rebuild or another motor (vvt). Downtime is going to a real killer in this situation.

This is probably a stupid question, but, can't you technically put any transmission on any engine if you have the means to create a custom bell housing adapter?

Behold the fun of adapting a 1UZ-FE to a CD009 trans from a 350Z to all go into a Lincoln LS.

So, in theory, yes, but beyond just making them bolt up you also have to find a way to transfer twist between the engine and trans which can mean making one clutch assembly out of two, custom throwout bearing assemblies, and lots of crying.

Do yourself a favor and read the whole build thread for an insight into my mind. That's the sort of dumb garbage I'd do if I had money to throw away at making dumb American barges into drift cars

I read through a fair bit of it. It's really amazing how far some people go, lol.

And I'm sitting here still figuring out how I will get an inline 5 in a Miata.

Fun fact: the front bumper lights on Eunos Roadsters (and UK MX5s) were slightly different than the US version. They have an actual orange reflector inside the housing. US version just has an orange bulb. I always thought that the Eunos's looked slightly different when viewed from the front and I finally put my finger on why. It's especially noticeable on a white car.

Eunos:

I swapped out my USDM parking lights for JDM ones. I've always been a fan of the dual light thing too.

Yeah, there's lots of usable metals there that can be melted down to make something that's worth more than a hipster's desires to be old school.

Goals. Also, so refreshing to see a muscle car that isn't tubbed and yadda yadda drag car runs 9s blah blah blah. The world needs more drift muscle and pro touring muscle cars.
