if you mean just popping a H4 rebased HID plug-n-play kit, plenty of people have done it. generally, the only relative successes have been using Cibie or Hella housings though. you've got to start with quality optics to have quality lighting.

if you mean fully retrofitting some HID optics (either from another vehicle, or from a universal source like the Hella 90mm), then I don't think anyone has done this on a miata, except for maybe some one-off low-profile setups using projectors. i would think that using a Hella 90mm bi-xenon in the Moss lo-pro kit would be a simple and nice (though somewhat expensive) way to get good HID lighting. plus you could then use the area that had originally been for the high beam projector and mount a cold-air-induction hose for the intake/engine bay. that's one of the ideas i've been mulling over personally.

the other option would be to do something like this: http://forums.nicoclub.com/zerothrea...postid=2681590
but with some 7" round housings instead of the rectangles. and assuming that you're relatively careful and skilled, you can make one that looks a lot more pleasing to the eye than that one, i should hope.

bi-xenon won't fit (maybe it will with some mods). Even though its marketed under the 90mm line, its mounting is not exactly the same as the true 90 mm lamps.

The xenon low beam in a Moss setup is nice, though. I have it and love it.

Thanks for the heads-up! The physical dimensions are pretty close, right? Is it mainly just a problem of the actual mounting locations or surface? Perhaps something that could be corrected with an adapter bracket/plate or some creative drilling and tapping?

Not sure how much modding would be required. You can go to http://www.rallylights.com/hella/90mm_modules.asp for pics and measurements.

I've driven bi-xenons in other cars and love it, but you have to sit down and really think about if spending that amount of dough just for HID high beam is worth it to you. Other plans/mods may be affected so your situation is unique to yourself, but how often do any of us really use our high beams?

I actually use my high beams with relative frequency, but I still have yet to determine if HIDs are even worth the $$$ for me personally. I've been exceedingly happy with the 85w/105w H4 Narva bulbs and Cibié e-codes that I've been using on my '58 Volvo, and to be honest the sealed beams that I've got in the Miata right now are usually sufficient for most situations. I think it's just that I've got the Tim Allen syndrome... needs moar powar!
