recently i took out the crappy 6x9 standard speakers out of the doors on my nb.
i picked up a set of vibe componant speakers to fit in there place. had to make up some mdf adaptor plates to get them to fit and trim a plastic collar on the door card, easy enough to do and made a huge differance over the standard ones. the tweeters fitted perfectly into the unused ports on the door card which was handy too crappy oem stuff ![]() big hole left in there place ![]() new shit ![]() tweeter grill removed ![]() tweeter fitted ![]() sound is pretty decent, just ran off the stereo but needed a little more volume so fitted similar on the rear shelf. |

tackled the rears yesterday, took out the rear shelf and thought fook this is flimsey.
cut out the templates and checked the fit. bolted it back down temporarily to trim the underlay and the carpet. wired them up and screwed them down. was surprised how rigid the shelf was when i bolted it back down, theres about twenty bolts holding it in place. test fit ![]() ![]() carpet trimmed and fixed down ![]() ![]() ![]() nice modest base with no rattles and not powerfull enough to over power the door speakers, decent sound quality but could do with a better head unit. |
