i have been looking into other options for engine managment that do not use a laptop due to the fact that i have a mac and i am not willing to go back to windows and AEM has been giving me some issues.... has anyone ever installed it on a miata? since it uses a crank trigger sensor does this completely elminate the CAS? from what i can tell the install looks to be easier then the AEM since the SDS uses its own engine harness and less wiring..... ![]() ![]() The programmer permits access to all fuel and ignition parameters. Fuel and ignition timing with regards to manifold pressure or throttle position is adjustable at 64 steps, rpm fuel and ignition timing in 250 rpm increments, acceleration enrichment, cold start, warmup, knock sensing, fuel cuts, closed loop and various relay drivers are all adjustable through the LCD programmer. ^ all this yet no laptop! |

SDS is a great system and is easy to get running. With the sds you have to fabricate a bracket for the crank sensor, wire the unit, install all their sensors and you will eliminate all the oem sensors. You will also have to make up your own plug wires to use their coil pack. I have used SDS with great success on Miatas and on some other vehicles. Can you give me some details on what your plans are for the car, engine etc and I can give you a better idea on what options you have.

right now what i have in the works is built 99 head with 1mm oversize SS SI valves, Super Tech valve springs and titanium retainers, MMD shim under lifters, minor port work and decked head so i should see 9.5:1 compression on stock block. i also will be running a BOIG DCOE manifold with Jenvey 45mm twinbodies. right now i have been looking into what it would take to convert my car to use a distributor to eliminate the need for igniton control and i think i can be done with some work and a protege distributor and some firewall modification |

well i did some checking and i could do the distributor but its not worth the cost when i can use the coilpacks that they offer with the kit....distributor - 150 MSD ignition box - 200 so 350 plus fucking up the firewall....bad idea.
