I just started swapping my stereos from one car to another and i hooked up my cd player to my miata....the cd player powers on and shows that its playing the cd i have in there but no sound is coming out of my speakers....its really irritating the crap out of me...i'm pretty sure i attached all the wires that were connected the way they were before and i left the ones that werent connected to anything the way they were as well......your help is much needed

Without being able to see whatyour wiring looks like the best thing i can tell you is to couble check your speaker wiring as it sounds like that is the weak link since it powers on.

the real questions would be.....
what year?, do you have bose?, if it does not have bose get an ohm meter and check the load of the speakers (nothing less than 4 ohms). make sure the speakers leads are not touching. if the speakers are aftermarket pull them and make sure that the terminals are not touching metal (also make sure that they aren't touching metal behind the radio.) newer radio's cut the amp out if any of these things happen to protect itself from frying. |
