Default My LS-1 swap

Still a work in progress..... a 27 week work in progress lol. Anyway, its an 02 LS-1, with the T56, and ford 8.8 with a 3.55 Posi, Tein Flex, and Sportmax's that are powder coated. They actually have a heavy metallic in them, but iphone camera doesnt pick it up. The car will be painted whenever its finally finished. I havent decided if it will be white, silver, or the corvette Cyber Grey.

Wow! I bet its terrifyingly fun. Could you please enlighten the less informed among us (myself included) what you mean when you say you used a Ford 8.8 rear end? Did you convert to a live axle from a Mustang? Or is it a differential unit from a Thunderbird that allows you to keep IRS? Are you giving free passenger rides?

No underneath pics yet, but I will have them once I get it back.
Yea it's IRS, it's a Diff out of an explorer that has been posi'd.
I love the cyber grey but I am just not a fan of having to keep darker cars clean. We'll see though cuz it just is that hot.

Did you use a kit?

Nice work but get rid of the Corvette valve cover covers.

Im paying RC about $9,000 total for the turnkey (everything included) swap. It was supposed to be $9,500 but he has made some deductions for the delay. Hell just the drivetrain is $4,000, the kit is $4495, and the fuel and cooling systems are extra, on top of AC. I got a helluva deal, but I've aged almost 7 months waiting for it.

The total added weight is only about 250 lbs... I bet there are turbo kits out there weighing more than that

It's actually quiet at idle and sounds like, well, a corvette when you get on it.

$9500 seems like quite a deal.
Do they back it up with any kind of warranty or anything? I would be seriously worried about reliability, personally, considering things won't be nearly as simple as they were stock...

Yeah that is a smokin' deal considering most other kits cost that much for just the parts/drivetrain :S

As far as paint options, the S2000 silverstone or sebring silver might be worth looking at, too.
