I have NO reverse gear
alright, the day before the failure, i drove it with no issues. backed out of my parking space and drove home, went inside went to sleep. the next day i went outside to head off and tried to put it in reverse to back out but the shifter wouldnt even go into reverse(the farthest it'll go is right in between 5th and reverse). at first i thought it was nothing as sometime i noticed it wouldnt go into reverse so i would drive it forward a few inches then try again and reverse would work (i sometimes have to do the same thing with my mazda6). i tried moving it forward, i even tried driving it around the neighborhood a bit to see if anything else was wrong with the gears. 1st - 5th will shift in smooth and with no problem. ive read about ppl being stuck in reverse but have yet to find anything about not being able to reverse. any idea whats wrong?
