When people say FM style I thought it was referring to dissembling the rack and removing the seals.

I just looped the rack. Flyin Miata actually depowered the rack.

There is one loop and its the loop on the steering rack. You can loop the lines on the pinion if you like, but its not needed. I capped those.

FM cuts the seals (ie remove the seals and fill with grease). You can take it a step further and weld the input shaft thing so there is zero play (but you need to be careful with that).

I booked marked the weld thread. But I'm not ready to take the rack out, how about one I can do with the car on the lift?

I cut out my muffler as well, sounds fine to me.
