1. to eliminate spark plug wires
2. if your stock coil pack blows it's a cheap option for replacement (I did it mostly for this)
3. you can run more spark plug gap and get a better spark which gives you slightly better mileage and prevents a 'spark blowout' effect when using a lot of boost.
