Hey guys, so yesterday driving around town I started hearing a whistling noise. The exact same noise that you hear when you boil water in a kettle, and it starts whistling when the water is boiling.
I looked at my temp gauge and surely it was on the rise, so I pulled over and shut it down. I waited about 15 minutes and opened up the radiator cap to fill the car with some water. I dumped about 1/4 of a gallon in there, and it seemed to do the trick until I got home.
I'm going to take my car to get the cooling inspected, but does anyone know what could have caused that whistling sound? Like do I have a leak in a hose somewhere that allowed that whistling noise to happen?
Last question, it's super dumb but it's worth the flame.. How do you know when you're coolant level is low/full? When I open the radiator cap I see a metal piece there, but I don't think it has any indications on it.
