Has anyone used one of the universal spark plug kits out there? I'm thinking of grabbing one of these so I can custom make the lengths and choose the colors I want and everything. This is the one I was looking at:
Mainly because for the size you get (8.5mm) it's a lot cheaper, especially compared to the Magnecor wires. Plus you can adjust the size accordingly to your personal preference, I think the pre-made kits are just a little too lengthy.
I used a different coil, mounted to the firewall, so had to custom build wires. That set you linked, will not have the right boots for the plug wells, and will be a bitch to install and remove, btdt.
I contacted MSD, and they advised me of the parts to build the plug end, I had bulk at the shop for the rest. Here is the reply they sent me.
"You could order our PRD21800, PRD22158, and our PN PRD26671 for the
spark plug end that goes into the head. These are raw part numbers and
you will need 1 of each for each wire. These will need to be ordered
from our order desk @ 915-855-7123. There is a list of dealers listed on
our website."
These parts were not perfect, but I was able to make them work. You may want to contact them directly to see if they have a better setup, for your application.
