recently picked up a 1.6 motor sorta taken apart if anyone has a complete motor send me your pictures help me find out whats missing or neat upgrades. i do like those individual coil packs versus the spark plug wires. who sells those?

yes im a noob :(


so far i can explain its on the rear part of the motor where the valve cover is looks like something goes in it i think its on the intake side of the cam.

949 company i think i have the numbers wrong but they sell complete engine gasket anyone buy from them ? i was told to go with roth .. something mazda dealer for 214. just looking at my options.

Sorry i've been MIA from this thread but started taking a part my motor. I have a blown head gasket :( so its all nasty inside.. .. and started working on my valves.

in the process of removing my valve cover .. i pulled this hose and i think its a pcv valve broke off with it .. and the other half is stuck into the cover.. no luck of prying it out.

removed my oil pan .. theres thing weird metal thing ! idk ive never seen anything like it in my life. i cant get to the pistons because its in the way .. too scared to pry it off :(

it looks like im missing a lot of sensors .. and is there a power steering pump on the motor? im so lost :( im waiting for my repair book to come in.

i think youre right im not sure what to get or what i need yet. i've been looking
through the forums with everyones upgrade such as motor mounts,throttle bodies,
individual igniter coil pack thing, etc. Mean while im trying to list things that are
missing. price comparing + i guess quality wise?
As in should i be looking into metal head gaskets since i had BHG.

so i was looking at my cams. and i noticed these 3 dots on one of the lobes..
im not sure if the picture attached shows how deep it is..
but its pretty deep is this a serious bad thing?

its like someone took a ice pick to it and stabbed it twice per hole.. thats my best example ..

so, i took my rods & cams to a machine specialst, and one of my rods are done and my exhaust cam is damaged.

i guess i should take this opportunity to upgrade?

i was looking at 949 rods anyone running these? if so what pistons did you use?

also for cams idk if i should just pick up a stock one or hks?

help me out?

to be honest im not sure anymore. im just looking into rebuilding it. maybe turbo in the long run not now just for smog purposes, or i might not even.

i've just been told by a couple of friends to take the opportunity and i might as well upgrade since some of my internals are ruined. i just dont know what i should get.

edit ..

i dont need a turbo to drift do i, it would just be easier to have a turbo so it kicks out easier?
