My car failed smog, and the second time before I had it tested the guy who sold me the car told me to put 91 and Nos Octane Boost. Turns out, I shot myself in the foot since it made my HC levels go up. So now I have 11 gallons of useless 91 and octane boost in my tank, and I want to use CRC Guaranteed to Pass but I'm afraid to mix it in because of the octane boost. I want to transfer the fuel to my Corolla. I bought a siphon only to find out that the Miata has the anti-rollover thing.
What's the best and most efficient way to drain gas. I know there is a drain plug at the bottom, but it will take time to drain 11 gallons ><
OR can I mix the CRC Guaranteed to Pass with the Nos Octane Boost?
I had a full tank of gas sitting there for almost a year, didn't want to run new engine on that, and I was wondering how to get it out, after some research found a very easy way to do it.
1. Open the diagnostics box and short these two pins out (GND and F/P I think)
2. Hook up a hose, I used a stock fuel line because it was out already, and put it in a tank
3. Turn on your ignition and fill 'er up. Basically shorting those two pins makes your fuel pump run when the ignition is on, and not shut off after a second.
4. What do you do with that gas? Fill up your daily
So to short it, I just need a paper clip and make sure those two pins are connected by it? Also, is it the same for NA? An NB is pictured. Where can I find a compatible hose to use?
cool trick thanks skinny!
I was trying to find this info when I was draining my 91 for E85 but no one I asked knew about it... so I ended up turning on and off the key for a few thousands of times
this V *notice how the gas left some marks near the cap area, its not really bad, but itll buff out. its the fastest, coolest, and easiest way to empty a gas tank
