is it my alternator?

Having an odd issue with my 94. As soon as I shut the car off, my battery seems to die. Attempt to turn it back on and I have absolutely no electrical power in the car (not even the door buzzer works). I can jump it and it will run, but even after driving it for 30+ mins it still dies out once I shut it off. I thought it was just a bad battery, but it still has good voltage and is just fine.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I also think my timing is off by a tooth or so, but that shouldn't have an effect on this right?

ive had the same issues b4 in my car....more than likely it is NOT YOUR STARTER.
first check for simple things first like if the plug in your alternator is connected and or nothing is loose. plug, belt, fuses
then check your alternator and your battery at a local parts store like kragen or autozone. or a place that checks if your alt is still good. but they usually require you to remove the alternator out of the car to be checked.
then check your starter

That's what I'm thinking, though .. to be fair, it could be part of the wiring or the part of the plug in the alternator that provides current to the battery, (could never remember what that's called) that runs from the alternator to the battery. I've seen cases where the alternator itself is fine, but that little plug needs to be replaced because the connection is bad b/w the Battery and the Alt. Meanwhile, all the rest of your electrical components are just fine and getting juice.

ok peoples....heres the news ...with my dilema back then which i have posted about my "wiring or electircal issues" ...the problem was the battery. bad cell led up to all those problems and some... my car would not start after using the a/c once i turned it off. car had low everything from lights to power. car would idle funnie dropping then going back to its original idle. n e ways thought some of you guys might want to know just in case anyone has another issue like this.

i did but when i got it checked it was still charging fine....and i had it checked twice...the reason i think is that it DOES still charge but its not holding it as well or enough. but if any of you have these similar problems with your miata heads up with this solution. :)
