just wondering if the cams that came in the mercury capri turbo were any different that the stock cams in the 1.6 miata engine. i know the engines are basically the same, but thought that maybe the cams might be different and may give an advantage over stock cams. i'm sure i can find these cams very cheap if they are worth getting and swapping.
I have no idea whether they fit or not, but turbo cams are generally milder than normally aspirated cams; all else being equal. The overlap that makes power in NA cams just allows the fuel-air charge to blow through the exhaust port in a turbo car. So unless you're planning on looking for more low end torque at the expense of high end power, stick with the stock cam.

as far as whether they fit, its an exact fit. my car will be turbocharged and i was thinking about a mild cam setup for my build and it was mentioned to me that maybe i should run the capri turbo cams in my setup.
ok, so if i go with Randy's info, and guessing that the 323gtx and the capri turbo motors were identical, i could run the exhaust cam from the capri for a little gain.
i've already looked into getting the cam and i might be purchased by end of day and on its way.
thanks
