Well whenever i drive my car and im downshifting my gears from 5-4-3-2 then 1,3,5 wont go in so i would have to go on 2nd and get on boost hard to shift it into third, then when i shift into third 1,3,5 unlock. But this also happens driving normal sometimes i did the screw driver on the reverse sensor trick to unstick the gears and it works but then it happens again. I also tried replacing the reverse sensor that has the ball bearing on the end to see if it fixed but nothing. Then i undid the three screws on the transmission for the springs with the balls and i tried stretching the springs out a bit and it fixed the problem for a little while then it started doing it again... So is there any other way to fix this problem or what could i do?
Well right now that's not an option to change to another new transmission I'm just asking for a fix for the one I have. Could I put like washer spacers to make my spring have more tension?
take out a spring then go to this website http://www.mcmaster.com/#springs/=9piscy
they have everything, and I'm sure you can find a similar, if not stronger spring
True statment. They go for few hundred now a days. Then again I know people who could save up for that in a few paychecks but, in turn, are impatient and blow money to fix their crap one instead and blow the money they could of used to buy the transmission.
cool I was wondering if it was normal to have the third gear shift be a bit more difficult.. Feels like the syncros are worn out.. I have just been double clutching, or trying to time the shift better.. Sounds like I will add a NB trans to the wish list..
with that being said, i think the they are identical except for some of the internals, and i dont think you can use a 1.8 drive shaft with a 1.6 rear end....
