Today for the first time I tried to set the timing on my 92 Miata. When I first was checking it, it was on 14 degrees, this is why I failed the smog test. It must have moved when I replaced the CAS O-ring. So after setting the timing to 10 degrees I checked the timing again and noticed that the marked was jumping around from 10 to 9/8ish and back to ten and then to 11/12ish. What would cause this?
While eating dinner the answer came to me... I was checking the timing after having removed the paper clip from the diagnostic port, so the ECU was adjusting timing
I cant lie that evo wheel shot is a pretty dope shot...still sucks though.
