Needing a new rear diff in my 1.6 soon and thinking of picking up a torsen swap kit from planet miata. They have pretty nice kits that include diff, driveshaft, housing & cv axles. Running turbo at 10-12 psi so making pretty good power. Should I be thinking 4.10 or 4.30 gears?
easy straight forward swap.. im running the torsen off a 2002 SE, 12psi on 4.3 gears..
i top my car out quick.. i prolly would go with the 4.1 to stay in boost a lil longer but i dont think you'll feel that much of a difference..
I've swapped diffs in my car 3 times. It's pretty easy. Only takes a few hours if you have help. The biggest pain is usually separating the axles from the hubs. When re-installing, anti-seize is your friend!
Swapped in 4.10 Torsen from a 95 R and have been rolling for about a week. The difference is incredible, car feels so good.. especially sideways. I should've done this a long time ago.
You'll wanna go bigger eventually if you wanna drift. Kaaz is where it's at man! You can sell the Torsen for a decent price too to make up for the price difference.
Thx.. yea that was me, rolling on black ssr mesh at the time.
