we should all be here to properly inform! the OP asked a genuine question & is relying on our answers to solve his problem; can we please keep it that way?
my car died at the top of a hill so i rolled it backwards in neutral, got some speed and hooked into a parking lot and into a parking spot (quite safely and smoothly i might ad ). Had my roomie pick me up and got to kragen for a belt and in ~5 minutes i was back on the road!
hop in your car, start it up, turn the wheels, if you have power steering then your alternator/water pump went out.. visa versa
I was heading to a interview begining of the year and the alternator/water pump belt went out, car didnt overheat just wouldn't rev past idle, sucked pushing it and running/walking for 3 miles lol
