Thanks!!
I have an Idle issue that Im going to try to fix when im down there, it hovers around 1500-2000, will this be effected if I go ahead and do the timing bump? Will my car adjust for it, because my idle screw is all the way in.
mine does this as well, m.net say its iac valve that causes that strange idleing, they say you can pull it off and clean it..sometime it helps but sooner or later you will have to replace it, runs about 45-60 bucks.
The original style crank key had a tapered end...the replacement is square...what this does is prevent someone from installing the crank key improperly...they gave you the correct key.
If I remember correctly.. you did not have to remove the crank bolt to remove the timing belt on the 1.6..the only reason to remove the crank bolt would be to get at the front main seal...to replace it if it is leaking.
I helped a buddy do his 1.6 a couple weeks ago and got there just in time to stop him from removing the crank bolt on his '90..
All bets are off if you have crank pulley wobble...
and like already stated..you have to have a proper ..steady 850rpm idle before you adjust the timing...and if you do not know how to adjust the timing, then you are really in trouble...because that is all a 'timing bump' is...a little flick of the CAS to about 12-14..instead of the stock 10...might take about 5 minutes...if you know what to do...
