I am new here and after looking at building my own intake, I have been looking at people pics, and have noticed several indiviuals with their afms mounted upside down. I know mounting it on an angle can cause issues due to gravity and the flapper door and all, but what is with it being upside down? Is there any gain to be had?
Yeah that's what I meant. The spring has to fight gravity as well as air moving past. Isn't as accurate. I imagine turning it over wouldn't cause problems but might give more space in certain configurations?
Want real NA power? Get MegaSquirt and the IAT Sensor in place of your AFM. You'll pick up some HP and run way better. Get the DIY kit or a PNP for $595. There's guys selling the PNP all the time. Trust me, you'll wanna get it!
Real talk...don't move it. AFM's are a PITA and if you do ANYTHING wrong with it it'll cost you over $100 to get a new or used one. I wouldn't move it if I was you. Just keep the intake stock till you can get MS-PNP.
