IBTgoogle/search, Ive been searching for days, M.net, MT, here, google, haynes manuals, cant find anything thats helped yet.

Ok, so my car has been sitting for months. I bought a cheap engine from a guy in cincy. I used my starter/alternator/coil/CAS/ MAF/fuel rail.

It cranks smoothly, sounds good, I am 98% sure I got all the connections together, and checked all the fuses. All the parts I used from my previous motor were in perfect working order and sat in our storage room for months. There is no spark though, Im not sure what is causing it, or where the source of the problem is. I have had my fair share of rebuilding hondas and old chevy motors, but this is my first time swapping a Miata. I have heard MAF/CAS/and coil can all be source of the problem, which makes sense, but they were all in working order when I removed them. Could they have gone bad just sitting around in a completely dry inside room for absolutely no apparent reason? I am strapped for cash and have run out of options, I cant just start buying parts until it runs. Dad has a friend that says he will tow it to his shop/ work on it monday if I cant get it going by then, but would love to figure it out so I dont feel indebted to him... I really need to get this thing running...

Any helpful input would be appreciated.

Igniter? Harness?

I had this problem with my car (post flood repair). Turned out to be a bad AFM. Make sure it's not a fuel pump issue. Jump the FP and ground in the diagnostic box to rule this out. Good luck! That 'no spark' problem drove me nuts for more than a week!

word, thanks man, Ill try it... seems to be getting fuel, i can smell it pouring out the header, but ill try anything at this point... I heard it could be the AFM, anyways to test it other than trying a different one?

If you dont have check engine light on with the key turned than its your AFM. It took me 3 days to figure it out before I almost took it to a eletrictian.

When my AFM got fried, I didnt get a check engine light with the key turned and the engine off. It would keep turning over and no spark. I unplugged it and my check engine light came back on. What fixed the problem was a new AFM. Turns out the AFM has a ground that can cause a no Spark issue.
