So I just scored a slightly used (5000 miles) ACT Xtreme Clutch & Pro Lite Flywheel combo for $240 shipped for my girlfriend's 1994. I've heard clutch jobs are very easy in these cars, but I'd like to know if there's anything I need to note when installing the kit. Since the clutch and flywheel have previously been used together, I don't have to have the flywheel resurfaced, right? Are there any fasteners I should replace while I'm in there? Should I replace the throwout bearing? If it doesn't come with one can I use a stock one or do I need to purchase one from ACT? The car has 28k on it, so I don't think I need to worry about replacing any of the gaskets at this point. Any tips would be greatly appreciated as well.
5000 mile clutch, same disk, etc you shouldn't need to resurface. Just pull it out and put it back in, it's stupid easy to remove the transmission in a miata.
One day I'll build a dedicated track car. Until then, hers will have to do
