Default car won't start...no check engine light

when i turn the ignition on i get no CEL light and the car will turn over but not start. bridgeing the fuel pump connecter makes the pump run.

so am i right in thinking its just the main relay? Is there anything else that will stop the CEL from lighting? fuses? Ignition switch?

is your airbag fuse blown? i had that happen to me a few months ago. same symptoms. and the no CEL means that the ECU is not getting power

I dunno about the fuel pump behavior, but I recently discovered that if I park mine with the nose pointed down, it will crank all day without starting. Move it to a level position and it'll fire right up.

Same thing happened to me fairly recently, turned out my coilpack failed and took a relay along with it.

ok so a diagnostics check reveals no codes. i have power to the ecu when cranking and with ignition on. Main relay is switching.
but still no fuel pump with the ignition on and no CEL at all. FP runs with the diagnostics jumper in.
evry fuse in both FB's are good.

when you say "main fuse" do you mean the 80A fuse held in by the bolts in the engine bay fusebox?

Thread revive lol. Did you check the actual fuel pump hangar? I had something similar happen to me too and the wire at the top of the the hangar on the inside had burned out.

it was nothing to do with the pump. the pump worked fine when the diag connector was jumpered. It turned out to be corrosion on the ecu board on the 1a/b/c terminals. i cleaned and resoldered the connections and all is good now.
