Default CARB approved headers?

I have a 94 engine in my 91 and am looking for a carb approved header are there any out there?

ok i believe i found the answer to my question. i found the jackson racing from good-win-racing for 445 plus shipping any other brands that are carb legal ?

I was thinking about those headers as well but I heard from Sonique128 that those things cracks easily so it kinda turned me off on that. I would also be interested to know what other carb legal headers are out there.

When I was researching headers (not caring at all about carb) I think I read that their old design the 4-2-1 was carb approved...

I know the new one isn't. (4-1)

just find a way to fab the stock heat shield onto the new header... paint the new header black... or a "rusty" color... and you're good to go

What makes teh 4-1 design not carb approved? Will the RB headers pass smog?

theres no reason the rb headers wouldn't pass smog, except on the NC where you remove the primary homopipe. i mean cat.

It'll probably pass the sniffer, but wouldn't pass visual. There probably isn't any real reason it's not CARB approved for NAs, other than they didn't want to pay the money for the test. The 4-2-1 offered better midrange, but the 4-1 was supposed to offer better top end. Every once in a blue moon you'll see a 4-2-1 for sale on RB's site in the Bargain Bin.
