Default Custom made 3" exhaust system

Well I think that I'm going to introduce my exhaust system here.

I have a aluminum 3" exhaust muffler from Vibrant. And the rest of the exhaust pipe is mendrel steel

Weight of the custom made pipe without the muffler

Weight of aluminum pipe its amazing!!!!

Weight of stock muffler, its unbelievable heavy!!

And weight of the stock pipe

Dam I will love to make the full pipe in aluminum!! who knows maybe coming soon

Now here's the complete work outside of the car. Hope you enjoy it!

This is how it will go in the car.

Here's where the LSD will go, thats why it have that angle. You will see it soon

A really straight pipe

Here's the reducer from 2.25" > 3"

Non cleaned aluminum pipe.

Cleaned aluminum pipe.

And here's a little video of the exhaust pipe.

An aluminum muffler on a car? I cannot imagine how that will not at least warp with that exhaust gas volume and temperature. Aluminum goes to liquid at very low temperatures compared to steel.

Its not like its a header man. Aluminum melts at 1220 F, the muffler will probably reach temperatures not much greater than 300 F; sure it'll expand but it wont deform.

I doubt that the exhaust is over 1220*F when it hits the muffler.

I have had the aluminum muffler for a year and it haven't have any problem. I don( believe that the muffler will get to 500f... After a hard drive I have been able to put my hand on it (the aluminum get cold super faster)

aluminum is fine for an exhaust system. it doesn't get hot enough to melt, and dissipates heat pretty quickly

This actually sounds very good for no resonator. Smooth and quiet also

That looks more like crush bent though, rather than mandrel.

Which muffler is that from Vibrant? Is that a 3'' pipe on both sides?

Where did you find aluminum exhaust flanges at or did you make your own? Sorry for all the questions but I have the same muffler and never mounted it.

You can find all the piping, resonator, and muffler online for pretty cheap. The muffler goes for about $100, resonator $50-60, and the piping is pretty cheap too. I just can't find any damn aluminum flanges.

I buy a iron one and make my own in aluminum. If is takes to you to long to find one I can make you one, but it will be a little high price. Let me know

aluminum is a good idea if you arent concerned with corrosion, its a good temporary solution for weight savings.
