Default driver-side exit custom exhaust. UPDATE. Video Clip. = )

hey guys, im in the process of probably making a custom 3" for my turbo miata.

im thinking if i go through all the trouble of making it, i might consider doing a driver side exit. my car is a 92... and i don't have it in front of me right now, but how will the stock hangers work ? or will i have to fab some new ones ?

any photos of some driver side exhaust is appreciate, thanks

Just let it come out from the fender. Much easier. It kills a lot of ground clearence having the pipes underneath the rockers.

meh, figured it out when i was staring at the bumper when i got back from cali.

basically cut the entire lower area of the bumper off along with the driver side rear tow hook. exhaust guy did 3" all the way back from my 2.5" dp with an aspec l spec straight muffler.

ill get somemore photos and a vid tomorrow or something.

16x8 in the rear with a 225/45 hankook rs-2 and 215/45 rs-2 in the front.

oh and the rear finish panel is kinda hard to find for cheap. i've seen them go for almost $200 on ebay.

What did you use to cut the rear bumper? sanding? paint chips?

like a semi gloss or something, i painted it almost a year ago.

my brother recently took off my old long style mudflaps, i was gunna try to fit them on and see if they would work out.

yea that sob is freaking huge, lol. i coulda went with a 2.5 inlet and like 3.5 inch tip ? or something, but i asked my friend and he told me to get l-spec one. (which stands for logen spec btw)

as for the sound clip, ill try to get one soon. car is down for upgrades and repairs. im waiting on a 90 degree silicon coupler to finish off the fmic, function7 oil drain for my turbo, and other random parts.

Great MX5! & I think the way you did the bumper cut-out is very tasteful. I like the way it exposes the rear end and assorted brackets for viewing. And, I imagine that with your FI setup, most folks will only see the rear... =D>

looks good.

when i did the second turbo, i used a LOT of AN fittings. it was a bit more, but fark, it made eaverything much easier to install/remove and i never had to worry about the fittings and lines when they were in.

thank you good sirs. i do swear by an fittings now. they make everything so easy and i dont have to check in on the damn things all the time to see if their leaking.

It really is the best way to make the rear bumper look different and a little more aggressive look to it all in the comfort of your own garage

Here's one of our JDM bretheren with the same mod done:
