Here is "work in progress" list of Miata/MX-5/Roadster based kit cars. These kit cars are either rebodies based on existing vehicles or use significant donor parts such as the drivetrain or suspension.

I think they're actually affiliated. Coveland merely imports the pieces from what I understand.

deman is starting to make miata based lotus 7 replicas. I have seen his kits first hand the the quality is great!!! I have been in the red on show on his website.. hyabusa motor and a turbo.. I have never been in anything that acellerated so quickly or had so much grip in my life! ( and he was on street tires..)

I am seriously considering one of his kits, with a miata mortor and maybe a M62 SC

That's nice how they package all their stuff together instead of listing it all out seperately like some other kit makers.

It's nice to just be able to order a body/chassis backage and then add the miata engine option to that.

It certainly makes pricing one out simple

i looked at a bunch of pictures of that a while ago. they had to lengthen the car so much to make it look right that there is actually a second trunk compartment behind the original trunk!

Interestingly a Miata based kit isn't available in the UK (Ginetta are an old UK Sports Car manufacturer) all engine options over here use Ford Zetec 1400-1800 ltr units.

I would URGE you to consider what you are really getting for half the price of Westie. I speak, sadly, from first hand experience. I wont go into details about it. I don't want to seem like I'm out to bad mouth Coveland. Some of the stuff is absolutely gorgeous. If you want to know more PM me and I'll fill you in/link you to were its been discussed.

Short story, the Coveland kit is more of a collection of parts that may or may not go together. If you are close to Coveland, a days drive, you might have better luck getting answers and issues resolved. I ordered my "kit" at the end of May this year. I still don't have all the parts. And some of the parts I do have several are of the "may not" variety. Worse part is I don't have an answer as to if thats just the way they are or, like a few parts I have, actually wrong.
