Default Any tricks to striping a hardtop?

... being that there's not a single straight line on the thing, i'm kinda curious if mere mortals like myself can do it.

Last night I was digging around and found an extra 12 feet of the color-shifting vinyl I striped the Miata with back in 2000. This means I now have enough to do the hardtop, which until now has been just plain white.

...I'm just unsure of how tough the hardtop is to stripe, and I don't want to waste the vinyl if I'm just going to screw it up.

Get one of those laser levels and stick it on the ceiling. Align the laser line with the stripes outer edges on the hood and trunk, then mask.

Best advice I can give is tape string lines on the basic edges of where you want the spripe(s) and start measuring from the edges of the hardtop to the string and comparing each sides measurment to the other.

It might also be a good idea to find the center first, and then you could draw a line/put a string down the center of it, and start measuring out from there
