Did you add ebay angel eyes to it? Or did you do a different mod? Looks interesting, kinda cool.

I personally don't like it...
Don't get me wrong! I also tried that a year ago http://bluelaguna94.myphotoalbum.com...umName=album19 and even though it kind of looks cool in the pictures, in real life the lights look bigger and kind of funny (like a miata with prescription glasses). I was thinking -at that time - that it might be looking good if it was inside the lense and not just around it, but I found that too difficult to implement... Another thing is that with the real lights on doesn't look so cool, so you have to drive around w/o the main beams on so that it would be visible... Just my $0.02 |

People seem to be a love it or hate it. Most people who see them in person like them. Regarding a few comments/questions. They are attached with a few dabs of clear silicone. Seem to be holding fine and you can't see it. You can still see mine with the lights on but not as striking as when they're off. I personally don't think they look like prescription glasses but again, different strokes. I like them so that's what matters. |

Never been a fan of copying BMW's, therefore I don't dig it.
However, I don't hate it. It does look better than the "angel eyes" on a regular 7" stock housing...lol |

Looks good in the pics, but I have to ask, why did you opt to make the rings instead of buying the Hella lamps with the angel eyes uilt-in? Is it due to the tpe of lamps included with the Moss kit being an incompatible fit?

I love the look of regular low-pros of all kinds. If I wasn't debating removing my headlights completely, I would probably make a set using 90mm Hellas w/ H9 bulbs.

I am not saying I am going to run out and do it but I really like projects like that, and LED projects in general.

I like them too but I might like them even better if it were just the outer lights. Do you happen to have any photo's like that? Do they have their own switch or do they come on anytime the parking lights are on?
Great project! I have Moss Lo-Pros, just waiting for some warmer weather to do the install. I think I may make this apart of it too. |

2. Money. I just spent $400 on the Moss kit. I never even considered swapping to a different lamp unit. |

BMW does it. In Texas they are more concerned about the color than anything else. Blue/Red/Green etc.. are illegal. My LEDs are a bright white so it should be completely legal. I wired them to come on with the parking lamps but have a separate hidden dash switch to disable them if I chose, such as if the doors are down but I'm running the parking lights only. As for the BMW purists... Yeah, I know it is a bit poser-ish. Same could be said for my Altezza styled tail lights. My feeling is I appreciate certain design aspects of other cars and sometimes integrate them into my car if I feel it will look good. If I was a purist, I'd have kept my car stock. Yep, I'm pretty much not a purist. However certain cars don't fit with these. A Mustang does not look good with Altezza styled tail lights, ever!!! I just can't see it but someone may prove me wrong. Look at it another way. Hot Rodders often borrow elements of other cars and integrate them into their own ride. This is now an accepted practice. However, at one time, I'm sure purists felt it was an atrocity to integrate, say Chevy tail lights onto a T-Bucket Ford. Car customization has always been about expressing your individuality. That being said, I feel there is just as much to be said for purists who keep a car as the designer planned it. It's all in how the owner sees his vision of his ride. |

oh I'm no purist, hell I've been called the exact opposite because of bastardizing my 10AE... but whatever.
I love the moss lights, use to have them myself on my old NA, just not a fan of the angel eyes is all... or altezza lights on anything really. But its your car and if you like em then thats fine. |
