Whoa! That's sweet! Any word on where I might be able to get some? And I noticed your new "Nostalgic Roadster's Official Club" signature. What's that all about? Is there a website or a hi-res image?

You never did forward the info to me but I think I've found it on my own.

Doesn't the cloverleaf symbol mean "disabled" in Japan?

Racing Mate happened way before Japan created their unique cloverleaf/cane type symbol for handicapped.

People often speculate but the Racing Mate cloverleaf is most likely an Japanisation of the Italian racing quadrifoglio.

You have to admit, it's kind of a funny coincidence.

Since you have the RM logo as your avatar, do you own many of their products?

Polished louvered hood is awesome. I was thinking about starting a thread with nothing but pictures of polished aluminum hoods.

Looks neat but that could be dangerous when driving into the sun!

Is Racing Mate still in biz? I can't find a link for them...

Dude, I embrace the stereotype with my car. Heck, my license plate even says "THUPER".

I use it to 1) keep people off balance, 2) as an inside joke for true car enthusiasts who can see past the stereotype, 3) to goad the ignorant--especially musclecar drivers, and 4) to make it that much more humiliating when I beat said musclecar drivers when they insist on racing me.

Think of it along the same lines as what Marty (an east coast drifter) does. He's a competitive drifter that drives a pink Miata with a Hello Kitty motif going on. It's a crowd favorite, especially with the girls. =D>

Dave,

By the time you're done with it, no one in the local Miata club or on your Whittier to Irvine commute will even recognize your car as a Miata. You'll be driving around a car that's obviously extremely customized bearing a license plate that essentially says, "I'm gay, spank me."

Any potential street race adversary will see that it's a setup.

If you want to challenge dumbly macho guys to stoplight drags, just rev up your engine at the red light. Why even bring your sexual orientation into question?

Just my $.02...

Bill
