Son's '90
filled bodyside groove & fascias, polished hood, Simpson rear bumper. Alu vinyl decklid and h-lamp covers to match hood. Is the green too much? slevin has influenced me with his shaved car |

OK, my son also said NO to the green (what was I thinking?) but would you do a black meatball?
We really want to do the polished hood (if it is aluminum - polish it!) The vinyl transfer looks just like polished alu. It is kinda cheezy to use it, but what else do you do with the headlamp covers? Leave them white? We thought of doing the decklid in the alu/vinyl to look common with the hood(?) I think the black stripe will tie the hood to the rest of the car? |

Green is gone but not forgotten. This is my son's car. One day I will have my own NA1.8 w/coldside SC and I will paint the whole damn car matt chartreuse green!
Bryan - I'm gonna leave the number off. I need a better shot to work with - rendering polished aluminum for the hood is not easy! Why havn't more people polished their alu hoods? seems a no brainer. |

Personally, I'm just not a fan of just a black dot on a white car...it's just not enough "pop". There really should be some kind of accent on it, even if it's just a border ring or something.

I wonder if I should just loose the dot altogether then? It looks too busy...
Maybe the shaved body and alu hood is enough impact? |

I don't like the meatball either. Especially for a daily driver. Def. a fan of the polished hood though.

Jeez, some Ford Design Guru you are!!!! No Harley Davidson Edition Miata? JK LOL
I think maybe lose the meatballs, until/if you get a little more retro styling onto the car. Polish the hood definitely but leave the headlights white in my opinion. I kind of like the contrast of the white vs. aluminum. I also think maybe the stripe could be a double stripe down the middle but narrower than say the Viper stripes. Black double stripes may just push it a little more race/retro with the polished hood and then throw the meatballs back on and do a thin red pinstripe, 1/16, inset 1/8 inch into the black stripe and the meatball. That should finish it off....for a day or two. Maybe white pin instead of red? Aww hell who knows I never settle on anything.... |

Good ideas. Yes, our plan was to strip the hood. We have bad paint right now so we can experiment with the graphics right now and not worry about screwing things up. My son is going to make some vinyl black meatballs at his sign shop and we will see how they look on the real car. We will take another photo tomorrow and I'll try this from a front 3/4 shot.
I understand that you guys have been around these cars for a while and know what works and what doesn't. I can tell from your cars if your taste is in line with ours - for the most part it is. THANKS |

I for one, like the bright green. I must be the minority. Have you guys seen the black Porsche with the bright orange decals/wheels/mirrors? I love it.
Anyways I like the polished hood idea, and would love to see the car after the vinyl is applied to match! I'm not a huge fan of the meatball on the side, and am not quite sure about the stripe, either. I've never really liked 1 stripe, rather have 2. I'd personally have to see it in person, I usually don't think more than 2 colors over each other look good unless it's a full out 'race car' with all the graphics/vinyl done up. That's just my opinion tho. |

if your harley is so great to put harley crap all over your ford what do you need a truck for? hell, I'd still buy one because it's pimp. on topic, the first design looks a bit busy but I'd like it without the meatball. Polished hoods are awesome for those who can pull it off. |

We did the black lips after seeing them on a thread here (Chinese hard tops or something).
We need to paint the car so we are going to try a few things before we strip the paint. My son is worried that his friends think the car is a chic car, now it is a goth chic car |

We just finished the Hard Dog Sport - and we did some lightness work - got rid of the carpet and package shelf panel. Rattle can'd the back. I need to do some wire loom work to finish it up.

Liking the way it looks right now also. As for your son's friends thinking it's a chick car, he needs new friends or they need to find their own masculinity
