Well first off to clarify, the window isnt broken, ive tried google but there isnt any clear information about the subject. The problem is that the window is really hard to roll down, and it gets stuck about 1/4 of the way down and becomes very hard to crank. I am guessing that it is the cable or crank? what do you think im just trying to get some more info before i start taking things apart.

Really the first step you're gonna have to take is take it apart.
We aren't there to see for ourselves so yeah. -Unscrew the interior handle and lock assembly -Pop off the door panel -Undo the speakers before fully removing panel -Inspect the window assembly, occasionally the cable can get wrapped or caught in there or your regulator is shot. If something looks amiss get a picture and we can help more. |

I have a bad feeling a piece of the cable may have gotten frayed and broke off clogging the rubber tube that the cable runs through when operating the window. When you get the door card off take a look at the cables and see if any of the cables have any frayed wires, if so, you're gonna have to take manual crank mechanism apart and completely pull the broken wire out.
This is what I did a few weeks ago and now my drivers side window is faster than my passenger side =). Good luck! -Will |

I had a similar problem, my cable ended up snapping... Remove the window & Regulator, and clean ALL the grease from the tracks... Then get white lithium grease spray, and spray it in the cable at all ends while cranking up and down, and that will get the white lithium grease into the cables...
The greaase the crap out of the rails, spread the grease nicely, and crank up and down a bunch again... It will end up smooth as butter. DONT ignore the problem though or you WILL snap the cable... Ask me how i know... |

UPDATE::
Well I removed the interior panels...and luckily i dont think the cable has been snapped. The window rolls down and get stuck at about 3 inches so im assuming its a lubricant problem. I think im going to try the lithium grease spray method, any suggestions on how to remove the existing lubricant from the tracks, the opening isnt large enough to get in and sufficiently clean it. |

Take the window out. Its not as hard as it sounds... First time took me about 15 minutes, now I can do it in about 4... Hardest part is being careful of the window beltline molding & its clips to not break them.

I found this one, but does anyone know how to do it with the window still rolled up?

Thanks guys, got it all figured out.
One of the cables managed to pop out of one of the plastic clips causing it to get stuck on the "roller" piece which is attached to the window resulting in it getting stuck. Pretty stoked to have such a simple fix, while I was at it just used some white lithium grease to ease up the windows again. |
