my bro got a wooden one from grip royal on his cressida. i freakin love to drive his car just because of the steering wheel. my friend has a momo, and i agree that they're solid. the leather is amazing too but the grip royal woodie has me SOLD!

i cant speak for the leather ones or paint ones from grip royal but the woodies are solid!

If it takes 2 weeks to get them painted don't you think it'd be of good quality?

I would imagine, they also say "Automotive grade"
I've never painted steering wheels. but can i have a response that includes a yes or a no?

FYI

Grip Royal posted this on their facebook page yesterday.

Quote:
*NOTICE* Due to the extremely high heat index in most areas this summer, please pay special attention to keeping your steering wheels indoors when you park your car!

Really aimed at the painted wheels. Paint will start to chip during high temperatures, just like clearcoat chipping on cars due to heat! Especially with the way wood expands/contracts under extreme temperatures. If you have a quick release, regardless of your wheel, good idea to pull it out with these CRAZY temps!

On the topic of NRG wheels, they're pretty poor quality. In under a year, the black paint on the spokes on mine has faded to a shitty brownish red color, and the leather is all faded and spotted. Would not buy from them again.

I have a NRG 350mm 3" deep dish wheel. Black suede with yellow stripe.

For $100 shipped, what do you expect? It's so much better than my stock, worn to hell wheel, and I didn't spend a fortune! Everything about it is an upgrade to me. It doesn't feel at all flimsy, but definitely isn't as sturdy as my Personal wheel in my Evo track car.

Gets the job done for $100 though!

Nrg is over priced. They are the same quality as the $30 ebay wheels. Cant speak for their wood wheels though, could be a different story.

Hmm the nrg steering wheels look similar to the china/ebay knock offs, but better the nrg over the ebay, since the quality of the nrg hubs and quick releases are pretty good(to me) so I guess the steering wheels they have cant be that bad?

But if you're paying a 120ish for a brand new nrg wheel why not save up a few more pretty pennies and just get a used or newish nardi, momo, sparco, omp?
Or maybe perhaps a grip royal wheel, they look nice and look like they have good quality.

/edit
I had an ebay steering wheel and now I have a momo steering wheel, the difference in overall quality is night and day. I think it would be worth the wait for a good quality wheel over nrg or an ebay brand.
