Default Ultra-Shield seat and stock seatbelts

I was wondering how the Ultra-Shield seats work with the stock seatbelts?

At the Gap last month, I sat in a Rally Sport seat mounted to the stock sliders and it was really comfortable. At least I think it's the Rally seat, the guy said it was the Spec Miata seat with the shoulder "wings", but it looked like the Rally from the pictures on their website.

The seat is more so than the Corbeau A4 that I have in my car now, so I was thinking about switching, but I'm still using the stock seatbelts. Any interference with the higher side bolsters? My Miata is a '91, so the seat belts are bolted to the tranny tunnel and not the seat rails.

Thanks,
Lloyd

i dont really suggest using that type of seat on the streets but since its just sheet metal you can always cut it if it interferes with anything

I run that seat right now with stock seat belt. I have a 91 as well.

the belts can either be placed through the lap belt holes or over the edge of the seat. I would say through the holes is the safer way, it doesnt really interfere with the bolsters at all, but I have mine over the edge because I swap seats so often.

the issue is if your going to run a alloy seat on the road get the back brace. 100% need it. some bitch runs into the back of you the seat can give and bend, and then break your back... any speed shop can build you one, or you can buy them online.

Sid,

Thanks for the help. Does the seatbelt still rest in your lap, or does it ride above you?

I really should have looked at the one I sat in more closely. I've looked at the back brace, something I'll get. What I really should do is lose a few pounds, so I sit in the A4 better. Nah.... that's the easy way
