I'm getting my car aligned in less than 2 hours today. I realized I don't have any idea what I want or what works.
One question I have is if I just gave it to the shop and didn't specify what I wanted, are they going to set it OEM spec? Is that alignment sufficient for serious competition style driving on back roads? Next question is...what to do if going custom? I'm familiar with FFs and would know exactly what I want with a 92 Sentra SE-R however with the Miata I'm not so sure. What is the max camber to be gained? What is a good front to rear camber ratio to sustain? Should I back down on the caster because I don't have power steering? How do Miatas react to toe adjustments? I'm lost #-o |

Do a quick search for Lanny's alignment -- I think you can find the numbers over at www.miata.net/garage
if you search the miata.net forums for 'alignment' you'll probably get some other numbers as well I hear Lanny's numbers are not 'too' extreme, and still offer a bit better performance than OEM numbers. |
