Default Tein Basic- How Low Can It Really Go?

I have a 91 NA. I plan on ordering a set in of Tein Basics in a week or so. I also have a set of the XXR 513 15x8 0 offset. My plan is to make it in the slammed thread LOL. I've been doing my research and I am trying to achieve a slam like this:

Is it possible to achieve this height along with rear DP6061 top hats? I then came across this thread:

http://www.clubroadster.net/vb_forum...ad.php?t=19811

Not impressed by his ride height, it might have been due to he was running NB basics with a longer spring. Anyhoot, help would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance..

Look like the fronts are 7inch and rears are 6 inch

I have nb tophats front, dp6061 rear and it works well. My only concern is you might need 6" springs up front. I know you can get stance coilover springs on ebay for dirt cheap, I might try there.

I have basics with DP6061 top hats in the rear... They'll go pretty much as low as I want... currently tucking the stockers up front and I still have room to go.

only concern is the basics aren't quite stiff enough (stiffer springs?) would be nice

i wouldnt even bother replacing your top hats. i have basics with the DP6061 mounts in the back, and stock mounts in the front. i could easily get slammed like the pic you posted. the only reason i dont is because of rubbing issues...

Get a used set of Tein Flex instead of Basics. I spoke with Gary at Track Dog Racing a week or two ago and he had a set for sale - pretty sure they were under $1k.

That said, you can pretty much dump it on basics but your handling will suck balls.

Better than Basic and worse than Flex.
</wiseass>

I have never heard of anyone on SS, for some reason. It seems people either go Basic on a budget or all out on Flex for performance. Not a lot of fence-riders.

All the SS add over basic is damping adjustment...I honestly haven't touched the damping once since installing the flex...that feature isn't very much worth any extra $$ to me...the flex, and having shock body adjustability on the other hand, is vital.

I am pretty much in the same boat, except I have Tein Super Street but also have NB top hats. Still work in progress. Will post pics once it's ready.

Here's a crappy pic of the height and the crappy weather. It's not really low and this is with the tein super street on their lowest setting.

I want to go lower than this -__-

I can't see your pic. Pretty sure teamzerospeed.com doesn't let you post their forum attachments to other forums.

Hmm didn't know that, while it's my own forum on my own server. Checked the settings couldn't find anything blocking it.

Anyhow it's on flickr now and it should be working.

If he just threw those on they're gonna hella settle in a few days or so...they should go a considerable amount lower than that...JDM Slick's car, on Tein HAs(old equivalent of SS) went this low without any modification or trickery...

there is definately alot of variables when it comes to ride height... improperly preloaded bushings can cause extra resistance robbing u of a couple mm. NB top hats also give u like 1/4 inch. allowing a week for new suspension to fully settle is a part in it too....

if ur complaining about slam possibilities... just caugh up the cash for flexes.

im on a tight budget for this build as it's going to get painted next month as well so the basics are gonna have to do it. Plus I already ordered the basics yesterday along with Dans tophats. Unfortunately the basics are on backorder for a week =(.
