I realize this set is discontinued and way way rare, but when I got mine in the mail today, I just couldn't help myself. I had to put it in my lightbox and shoot every piece. And how could I not share? So here we are. An unopened, unused KG Works vintage Mazda logo gift set. I've wanted this set for YEARS and was slowly piecing it together until it disappeared. I had the exterior badge and the oil cap. Now I've got all 6 pieces.

That's right. I didn't even open it yet. I opened while taking pix. I wanted to share the experience.

Sharka is excited. And these bags are still sealed!!!

What better way to show off rare Japanese parts than with rare Japanese toys? Soundwave shows reverence to the horn button.

Tetsujin and the oil cap. It's like a movie title.

Starscream and Ultra Magnus argue the virtues of the tire valve covers.

Sharka and Shockwave make silly faces in the shift knob.

Danbo inspects my favorite piece, the nose badge.

This is Jun the bunny. She loves everything. She really loves the keychain.

--------------
and this! This is intermission between lightbox pics and installed parts photos. Max from Rev9 sent me this awesome Royal Clover key blank with my last order.

It feels AWESOME. I had it cut today. It's light and feels just right in your fingers. I'll not be using the stock rubber key anymore. It's Royal Clover for Sharka.

and now back to the KG Works stuff.
----------------

My beloved KGW nose badge. It lived through my 97's wreck. Now I've got a spare.

The other piece I had before receiving the complete set, the oil cap. After 3 years, it still looks new.

I wish I had something a little spiffier than Rotas to shoot this against. SOON! Soon.

This is the new-old-stock 70s Mazda keyring that's on ebay right now. Looks pretty good next to the KGW doesn't it? All keychains should be so lucky as mine.

Momo F1 wheel with KG Works horn button. SO happy about this. And I've decided I need to find myself a Momo Prototipo ASAP.

Sadly, the shift knob kinda sucks. It's the only piece I don't love. It doesn't sit down very low on the shifter. I'm unsure if I want to modify it or just resell...

Mmmmmmmmmm. Vintage.

Hope you enjoyed the shots. I'm in rare part heaven at this very moment.

Yeah - the knob is just so-so and the finish is just meh. I love the vintage logo button on top, so I got one from KG direct and modified my Sola knob to fit with the KG button and it sits much lower. You can always hack off about .50" from your shifter and it will sit much lower (easy mod).

Be careful of the key chain stuff.....the enamel will chip away over the years and sadly those things should just be used for display - unless you just do not care and like the worn look (like me!).

I have had a ton of guys asking me about that vintage knob and where to buy - so you should not have an issue selling it.

Looks great on your car!

Trying to come up with a key-pun, but failing miserably. Just click the link. :)

Peter: thanks for the heads up on the keychain! I don't mind some wear but... hmm.... maybe a little clera-bra over top to protect it. I'd definitely like to keep it pretty for a while.

Randy: compared to our shared Roadster hobby, toys are WAY cheap. Way cheap. Easy to collect a lot and spend a lot, but if you just get the one or two cool ones from a line, it's not too bad a hobby to start up. I love my little robots. http://www.hlj.com (I'll just leave this here). And your kid would LOVE them too.

I've got this set, but Phatty sold the radiator cap out from under me. LOL

All these goodies will make it onto the '93 Crystal White project car.
