The thread title is the actual name that Zoom uses (or サイドマーカー). Winker and blinker are more common names. But everyone here knows what these are.

I bought mine from Rev9. I nearly fell over when I opened them. Holy god are these things gorgeous. And metal. HEAVY metal! Most of the photos I've seen online don't do them justice. They're very shiny and beautiful, yet not chrome. One photo I took really shows off the shine (and has a Transformer).

I could type a page on the beauty of these things. 10 out of 10. Just incredible. And they're BRIGHT too. I tested both on a spare battery before wiring them up and was astonished at how bright they are. 10/10 for functionality.

Which brings us to the down side of these markers, they mount with VERY WEAK double sided tape. WTF? I could hardly believe it. Double sided tape to hold a heavy metal blinker in a hole? A little research revealed it to be pretty weak tape and something I should not rely on, so I jumped to action.

I made this out of some thick gauge copper. Not pretty but it does the job. They're little retaining rings that clamp onto the barrel behind the fender. This should provide a little fail-safe should the tape decide to let go. I considered just drilling a hole or two in the side of the barrel and securing with some half-installed screws, but that would be maybe too difficult to get to in the limited space behind the fender. So, it's crappy copper rings.

and then I did this. I removed the Zoom tape (which came off with nearly zero effort! ) and installed Scotch 5 lb tape. This is what I use on my KG vintage nose badge and rear MX-5 badge. Both survived my 97's wreck and stayed attached to the destroyed panels despite the impact. That's good enough for me.

Also note that I taped the barrel. This grabs onto my crappy retaining rings and fills out the extra space in my 38mm fender hole.

Tape and rings holding on for dear life.

So I'd give the Zoom side markers an 8/10. They're extremely beautiful and work very well, but the install method is just plain ridiculous.

Those are the bomb diggity, i had a set but had my fender drilled out for the larger OEM versions. So once i tryed to install them it was a no-go. You are very creative man, i would not have even thought to wrap the barrel to make up for the extra space. damn, i might have to revisit these again, it really killed me to sell mine, the Zoom lights are insanely good looking. And they look stunning if you pair them up with some Prontry running lights.

Nice write-up, once again, i think we should make you the official ClubRoadster parts review guy!!

Those spoked wheels look great but they get a bit wobbly above 90...they *flex*, and the sets I've seen need 10mm spacers to fit over 1.8 calipers. My local Roadster guy just sold his set of these for an absolute fortune - definitely more show than go though, and I hope you like cleaning spokes...! They do come up every now and again over here in the UK though...

Zoom blinkers look great.
