Previously, I reviewed the Chikara Stainless Clutch Line (viewed here: http://www.clubroadster.net/vb_forum/showthread.php?t=25062) After being super happy with the product I decided to move onto my brake lines.
As soon as I found out there was a sale, I thought long and hard and decided to pick them up. Anyhow lets get on with the review.
Regular price, 18,9000 yen! This sale sure is a steal guys!
The Maruha set is something different thats for sure in terms of quality. Everything is nicely machined and well designed when you look at the product. One of the key factors that set this kit out from many others is the flexibility of the hose during install. There is a bit of play allowed at the joint between the threaded connection and the stainless hose. This makes it sooo much easier to position the line without any kinks or twists.
Generally stainless steel lines are installed by installing the threaded portion firsts, to allow the least amount of twist possible, and the connecting the other end to the caliper. This one is a bit opposite as it allows you to install the caliper side first, then bolt up to the hardline.
I made a video to demonstrate the flexibility in the joint, what I'd like to say is that what's NOT shown is the ability to move side to side as well. (Really wish I filmed that before I put them on)
Demo:
Rear side of the joint.
A few pictures I took before install:
Notice: This is kinda cool I think. The folks at Maruha really thought the product out well. Instead of having a female connection joint at the passenger side rear line, they have a male connection. Its really well thought out and shows they go the distance in the design. I know most kits just give you all 4 hoses with the same connections.
Out with the old, In with the new!
