These are the M2-1028 style mirrors that rev9 sells. I considered trying to hunt down a set of the real ones, but ultimately decided to just make it easy on myself and get these from Max. Actually, I found 3 sets of the real ones in the time that I've been interested in them. All sold for north of $500.

Build quality
: very good. The mirrors are tight yet offer the full range of movement. Very easy to aim. Very stable once in place. The plastic mirror housing is of high quality and they weigh very little. The bases are metal. There is a fixed hole in the back and a slotted hole in the front to allow for variation in door hole placement. I give build quality an A.

If you check out the top photo, you'll see the generic sheet metal screws included. These won't work. You need M6x1.0 screws in about 1 to 1.5 inches long (25-40mm). I went to the local bolt store and got some very nice black socket-head capscrews.

Installation: Easy. You remove the door skins to get access to the mirror motor wire and unplug it. That's the hard part. Then there's 2 large screws on each mirror. That's the easy part.

The one place that could use improvement is that front slotted screw hole. It doesn't allow the screw to recess. You can kinda see it in the rear comparison shot. You can see some of the threads on the stock screw I used to hold it in place for this shot. I tried to give the slot some clearance with my dremel, but there's just not that much material in the mirror base to remove. So I went with black capscrews.

Style: Just look at them! I love these mirrors. I think they're the perfect style for the NA Miata and exactly what I wanted to update Sharka's look. A++ for style.

Visibility: On the driver's side, it's okay. The mirror is much smaller, but it's not awful. On the passenger side, it's awful. The mirror needs some sort of wide view or bubble mirror. I put 2" stick on bubble mirrors on each one. The bubbles don't look horrible and allow the passenger side to work again. This upgrades the visibility from a C- to a B+.

Overall: I give these mirrors a solid B. Having the front slotted hole allow the bolt to recess into it would put it up at a B+. And an included convex mirror for one side would shoot this all the way up to an A.

For the money, you get tremendous value in Max's mirrors. I'd recommend them without hesitation. http://www.rev9autosport.com/
