Build quality: Extremely high. These are not only beautiful, but they’re well made. And they’re unbelievably light. I wish I’d thought to shoot a photo of these on my gram scale. Each pedal weighs nothing. And there’s not a bad cut on any edge. These are extremely well made. A+
Style: Obviously, style is totally subjective. I, for one, dig these pedals. I think they’re the most beautiful on the market as of 2010. They’re elegant and retro and insanely shiny. In other words, perfect.
Another A+
Installation: Well, they’re pedals. How hard can it be? Without any instructions, I can tell you that installation could have been easier. So I did a whole blog post about installing 4 pedal covers. Still, the install was not exactly tricky. B-
Useability: I did actually buy these in order to increase pedal grip and make driving more enjoyable, right? In this aspect they perform pretty well. The brake and clutch pedals have great grip. The dead pedal (which Bumblebee is holding above) is extended beyond the factory dead pedal and supports your whole foot. This feels extremely nice. The whole pedal kit is nearly worth it just for the better dead pedal support.
But the gas pedal? I do not like it. The little bend somehow manages to get under my shoe when I’m braking. It is extremely annoying. It was so annoying that I took the cover off and increased that little bend so that it points straight down. I know it’s there to make heel-toeing easier, but I’ve honestly never found it to be difficult. Overall useability: B+
Overall: These pedals deserve a solid A-. Before bending the gas pedal to my liking, I would have rated them a B+. I just hated getting my foot caught under the edge of that pedal cover. But after modification? Wonderful.
I’ve been driving on these for nearly a month now and have no plans to remove them in favor of something else. I highly recommend them to anyone. Hit Rev9 and grab a set for yourself.
Nice review! These are my favorite pedals from a style perspective (I'm a sucker for anything M2, Inc. related) but as my OMP pedals get the job done upgrading has been a low priority. Also, I'm doing the swingdancer mod and removing my dead pedal completely to free up space for my left leg.
Hmm, I may need to pick up a set of these. My last car had a set of old Simpson Design pedals, and I kind of miss them... and I just de-rice'd the pedals on my new NA.
Those look great, and I'm glad to see you don't have to drill into the pedal itself. That was a real PITA, and I would never do it again.
Mine got installed a few weeks ago. The install alone gave these an A+. No drilling or lining up with tape, or marking holes. My oem rubber pads were worn thru, so got a new set to be sure the 1002 brake/clutch pedals were nice and firmly mounted.
Think I had pretty much the first set of these max sold , I love them my only grumble would be the aluminium is relatively soft and marks easy apart from that super cool
Side note, these fit NA and NB, however all the NA guys will need to source a used or new NB dead pedal. Its a tad longer, but i have had these pedals for some time now and love them. Sold my MSM pedals for these. ill upload a picture of them installed later.
Interesting about the NB dead pedal. I had no idea. They bolt up to the NA pedal just fine. You just leave out one screw and have a small bit of unsupported pedal at the bottom.
I'm running these as well. I run into the foot getting stuck behind the gas pedal scenario as well. I might do some trimming. Other than that, they feel great.
I bought one after I read your review Revlimiter! I would also like to thank you for the lovely installation blog, it helped A LOT! I haven't really got to test out the pedals yet since I just installed them today. But I did get to drive down to the local supermarket and yes do feel REAL nice!
