i'll start off by giving my general opinion about the coils right off the bat as opposed to having you read the whole and THEN finding out
my QUICK opinion: i'd say that these coils are pretty damn good considering their price. about the only thing i'd like more of is travel, but lets face it miata strut assembly's don't really allow for much to begin with.
REVIEW: i bought these coils about two months ago for about 600 bucks even. Ive been riding on them for about a month now and am pretty pleased.
SPRING RATE: the spring rates on these are 8k front and 6k rears. that being said i expected them to be pretty damn stiff considering the miata is substantially lighter then the nissan s-chassis i am used to. however, they are softer and more comfy than i originally anticipated. not to say that they bounce or at all "floaty", they handle really well with little to no body roll.
SHOCK BODY SPECS: (info givin' by GREEENTEEEE, thanks buddy) They have 115mm of shock shaft travel, with a 1.5" long bump stop and a 220mm long threaded shock body up front. In the rear, 85mm shock travel, same 1.5" general bump stop in all of their other coil-overs and a 170mm long threaded shock body in the rear. Unmodified bump stops will leave 3" of front travel and 2" of rear travel at full droop.
DAMPENING AND ADJUSTMENT: EZ's are 15-way adjustable(regular streets 32-way). i gotta say Megan should make all their coils 15-way, in comparison to the regular streets id say the adjustments are more noticeable when going through theclicks. I previously owned a set of regular streets on my s14, i found that there was absolutely no difference between clicks 32 and 24, not til about 21-22 did you feel the difference. kind of a waste if you ask me, i dont think anybody ever uses all 32 clicks. where my EZ streets i feel the differece in every 3 clicks or so, making it very user friendly when it comes to adjustment.
Get LOWWWW factor: i was shooting for the "moderately slammed looked" and achieved just that with very little tampering. if i wanted to go lower i could easily do so, i prolly have like 2 more inches i can lower for both front and rear WITHOUT removing collars
REAR:I set the rear coils to their lowest setting without messing with the spring perches and got exactly what i wanted (pics below show rear height with no adjustment to perches)
FRONT: the front took a little bit more to get them where i wanted. I had originally set them to the lowest setting and was a little disapointed as the car sat way to high(my opinon) i lowed the car approx. 1 1/2 more inches by lowering the lower spring perches. After the adjustments had been made i had the car right where i wanted. Next i just had to roll and pull the fenders(the fenders basically sat on the tires lol)
wheel/tire spec: 15x8+0..with a 195-50-15...hard to imagine i know(sarcasm) lol :winky::winky::winky:
heres the end product:
If I'm missing anything, questions, comments please tell me.
