In follow up to Rev's G-String review, I felt I should give my thoughts on Project-G's other product. The Hardtop Spoiler. I know, There isnt much to review on the item however in my opinion, this is a product worth a further mention!
Build Quality: When I first got my Hardtop Spoiler I was a little bit surprised by the material it was made of, To be honest I had no idea what to expect however from previous experience of fitting Aero (including roof wings to Silvias (Kazama Auto on my s15)) I for some reason assumed this would be of a thicker material. In all fairness I was rather doubtful on first glance, simply due to the flex the product had.. I felt as if it would be too 'flimsy' for it to work with simply just M3 double sided tape. However on fitting the item I could then see WHY it was of what it was.. the fitment is better than any aftermarket piece I have ever seen! The material allows for flex and movement to wrap around the rear window perfect, unlike the previous Kazama FRP one I had on my s15 (Which had large gaps either side!)
Install: Again, On using previous aero products, To simply rely on using M3 tape in my climent here in the UK, isnt something heard of to be honest. Sealant is something we use to stick parts on like this. However Iam stunned by it! Iv had to stop several friends now tugging it however even with them giving it a good pull the item is solid to my roof. Simply pull off the backing and press it onto the window and hey presto. Job done. (Although it is a 2 person job to ensure perfect fitment imo.
The Result: I have a roof wing which does not flex when driving/drifting, its stayed perfectly in place in the time of ownership, It has reduced rear sun glare and it looks amazing. It really compliments the lines of the hardtop to how it should have been! Every time someone see's this, they ask 'Where did you get this? I want one!'
Overall: This part has put alot of trust back into me buying parts over seas. The guys at Project-G are fantastic to deal with and i cant recommend them enough. Iam overly happy about my hardtop spoiler! I have been after one for a long time, to the point of beginning my own one with 2x EG6 rear spoilers cut in half.. however, Iam glad I didnt continue and I have this on now! Top work lads, keep it up!
Pictures are terrible, Sorry. I'll get better ones and update the thread - In work at the moment!
To show how happy I was, before fitting this, I actually bought a brand new hardtop for my car!
Big thanks to Project-G.
